OMB Approves BIS Final Rule for Certain Australia Group Controls

Yesterday, the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had approved a final rule from DOC’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) on “Revisions to Certain Australia Group Controls and Reasons for Control”. The rulemaking was submitted to ORIA on August 25^th, 2023. The rulemaking was not listed in the Spring 2023 Unified Agenda, so it is not clear what revisions were included. The final rule could be published in the Federal Register next week.
