Bills Introduced – 9-5-23

Yesterday with the Senate in Washington and the House meeting in pro forma session, there were 31 bills introduced. One of those bills will receive additional coverage in this blog:

HR 5345 To amend title 18, United States Code, to prevent the use of explosive materials to assault, resist, or impede certain officers or employees. Gonzales, Tony [Rep.-R-TX-23]

Mention in Passing

There are two bills, likely companion measures, that I would like to mention in passing:

HR 5350 To address the needs of workers in industries likely to be impacted by rapidly evolving technologies. Schneider, Bradley Scott [Rep.-D-IL-10]

S 2722 A bill to address the needs of workers in industries likely to be impacted by rapidly evolving technologies. Durbin, Richard J. [Sen.-D-IL]

It will be interesting to see how one defines ‘industries likely to be impacted by rapidly evolving technologies’ that would allow a program of reasonable cost to significantly impact workers so affected.
