The DOT’s Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety
Administration published a meeting
notice in today’s Federal Register (80 FR 26617-26618) concerning two
separate meetings to be held in Washington, DC on June 10th, 2015 to
prepare for meetings in Europe on the Transport of Dangerous Goods
(TDG) and the Globally
Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
During the morning PHMSA will conduct the meeting on the
upcoming TDG meeting. Among the items to be discussed will be a possible PHMSA
submission at the TDG meeting concerning “enhanced
recognition of alternative test methods relevant to the classification of
corrosive materials”. The same topic may come up in the afternoon meeting led
by OSHA on the GHS meeting.
Advance registration is required to attend the meeting in
person. This can be accomplished on-line. The same form can be
used for both meetings and may also be used to sign up for attending the
meeting electronically, either via call-in or live meeting. Further information
on the electronic connections will be found on the PHMSA web site at an as
of yet undetermined later date.
Written comments are also being solicited. Those comments
can be submitted via the Federal eRulemaking Portal (www.regulations.gov; Docket # PHMSA-2015-0101).
