Yesterday the House Rules Committee took their initial
action on HR 1735, the National Defense Authorization (NDA) Act of 2015.
That action only covered the initial one hour of general debate on the bill.
That debate will probably be held today.
The Rules Committee will meet
this afternoon to consider the amendment process. Three hundred and
forty-nine amendments have already been submitted to the Committee for
potential inclusion in the final rule on this bill. Of those nine are related
to cybersecurity and one is related to defense against drone attacks. It will
be interesting to see if any of those make it to the floor of the House for
consideration. Currently there are no significant cybersecurity provisions in HR 1735.
