HR 2390 Passed in House – Replacing Chinese Port Cranes

Today the House took up HR 2390, the Maritime Supply Chain Security Act, under the suspension of the rules process. After less than 8 minutes of debate, the bill was passed by a voice vote. The bill would allow the use of grant funds under Port infrastructure development program (46 USC 54301) to be used to replace upgrade or replace Chinese port cranes. No new funding is provided in this legislation.

The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration. There has not been a similar bill introduced in the Senate. See my earlier post on HR 1182 today about how that affects the possible consideration of this bill in the Senate.
