Yesterday, OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had received a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) from the EPA on “Extension of Deadlines in Standards of Performance for New, Reconstructed, and Modified Sources and Emissions Guidelines for Existing Sources: Oil and Natural Gas Sector Climate Review”.
This rulemaking was
not listed in the Fall 2024 Unified Agenda, but it almost certainly is in
response to the final rulemaking from the Biden Administration published
on March 8th, 2024. While the details remain to be seen, it is
interesting that the proposed rule would delay deadlines from that rule, rather
than just eliminate the requirements.
