NIST Cloud Computing Forum to Address Security Issues

The National Institute of Standards and Technology published a meeting notice in today’s Federal Register (80 FR 33483-33484) concerning a public Cloud Computing Forum and Workshop to be held in Maryland on July 7th thru July 10th, 2015. The meeting will focus on the progress the cloud community has made on the 10 requirements provided in the USG Cloud Computing Technology Roadmap (NIST Special Publication 500-293).

According to the noticed NIST is still soliciting presentations to be made at the workshop even though the flyer referenced in the notice says that the abstract submission deadline is May 15th. One of the topics about which presentations are being requested is cloud security.

NIST is also having a 1 day exhibition during the Forum and has space for 25 exhibitors. Academic, industry, and standards development organizations wishing to showcase their cloud computing work should contact Tara Brown {tara.brown@nist.gov or (301) 975-4178}.

This is a public forum but advance registration is required. You can register on-line.
