Yesterday, with both the House and Senate in session, there
were 54 bills introduced. Of these only one may be of specific interest to
readers of this blog:
H Res
459 Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United
States should support the development of programs that better prepare students
for careers in cybersecurity by actively promoting ethical hacking skills. Rep.
Garrett, Thomas A., Jr. [R-VA-5]
Generally speaking, ‘sense of Congress’ resolutions are
fairly meaningless political statements with no practical effect. I will be
watching this one, however, to see how it is worded and what definitions, if
any, it uses. I do not expect that it will actually see consideration in
committee or on the floor of the House.
