Today the Department of Commerce’s Bureau
of Industry and Security published a public meeting notice in the Federal
Register (80 FR 40997-40998)
for the Information Systems Technology Advisory Committee. The partially closed
meeting will be held on July 29th and 30th, 2015 in
Washington, DC. The open portion of the meeting will include an industry
presentation on “Penetration Testing and Implementation of Wassenaar 2013
Cyber-Related Provisions” on Wednesday.
The ISTAC advises the Department of Commerce on the
technical parameters for export controls applicable to dual-use commodities and
technology and on the administration of those controls. Note that DOC has
not established web pages for the eight technical advisory committees that
provide support to BIS.
There will be a limited number of public seats
available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the meeting. There will also be
provisions for up
to 20 teleconference participants. Written public comments may be submitted
before and after the meeting by emailing to Yvette.Springer@bis.doc.gov.
NOTE: This is the meeting that I briefly tweeted about
yesterday.
