Twenty bills were introduced yesterday in the House; the
Senate had already left for the weekend. Only one of those may be of specific
interest to readers of this blog:
HR 3025
To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide a criminal penalty for
launching drones that interfere with fighting wildfires affecting Federal
property, and for other purposes. Rep.
Cook, Paul [R-CA-8]
While recent news reports about fire-fighting flights being canceled
due to the presence of drones in the fire area make this a potentially
important bill to fire-fighters it is the presence of the ‘and for other
purposes’ at the end of the title that caught my attention. Lots of room for
other drone actions there.
