CSB Adds 8th Chemical Incident to the Active Investigation List

Yesterday the Chemical Safety Board updated their ‘Current Investigations’ page to add an eight active investigation. The latest addition is their investigation of the November 12^th, 2024 explosion at the Givaudan Sense Colour facility in Louisville, KY. The Board sent an investigation team to the site on November 18^th, 2024.

As I reported on November 16^th, 2024, the CSB reported on a 2003 incident at this same facility (different owners). That incident also included a pressure vessel explosion.

The other seven incidents currently on the active investigation list at CSB date back to July 14^th, 2023 with the most recent incident occurring on October 10^th, of 2024. The last completed incident report was issued in June of last year.
