Yesterday, the Chemical Safety Board announced that it was sending an investigation team to Louisville, KY to look into the fatal explosion that occurred last week on November 12, 2024, at the Givaudan Sense Colour facility in Louisville, KY. The announcement notes that:
“The CSB’s six-person team will arrive onsite tomorrow (today). According to the company, in addition to the fatalities, serious injuries, and damage to the facility itself, a section of the pressure vessel was ejected beyond the fence line and damaged a residential unit.”
I reported here Saturday that:
In 2003 the CSB investigated another explosion at this facility.
There are currently seven ongoing
investigations being conducted by the CSB, the oldest dating back to
January 2023. That total does not include this investigation.
