A 1-gallon chlorine dioxide spill in a chemical laboratory resulted in one person being transported to hospital. No word on if that person was admitted.
This was probably a chlorine dioxide solution (typically a
2% solution is used as a bleaching agent), as pure ClO2 is a gas above 11° C and is extremely
toxic and unstable (see reactivity comment on
Cameo for ClO2).
