This week the National Institute of Standards and Testing’s
(NIST) Computer Security Division announced
that on May 29th they would be holding a three day workshop on the
development of the Cybersecurity
Framework. While the first NIST
Cybersecurity Framework meeting on April 3rd was mainly
presentations by government agencies about development process, this upcoming
workshop is designed to solicit comments from the public about the Framework.
No registration information is currently available, but the
workshop will be held in Pittsburgh, PA. The NIST point of contact is Suzanne
Lightman (suzanne.lightman@nist.gov).
NOTE: The closing date for submitting written comments on
the Framework has now passed (April 8th, 2013) so this meeting will
likely be the last chance to provide comments that can affect the development
process. Later meetings will likely deal with the details of the Framework not
the general direction that it takes.
