Yesterday, with the House and Senate meeting in pro forma session, there were 38 bills introduced. One of those bills will receive additional coverage in this blog:
HR 4470 To extend the authorization of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Program of the Department of Homeland Security. Lee, Laurel M. [Rep.-R-FL-15]
With just 20 days left (July 27th, 2023) until the current authorization for the CFATS program expires, this is now the second bill (S 2178 was the first) to be introduced dealing with extending that authorization. The last oversight hearing held on the program was by the House Energy and Commerce Committee on September 11th, 2019.
