HR 3960 Cosponsor Added – Aviation Hydrogen

Yesterday, the House added a cosponsor for HR 3960, the Hydrogen Aviation Development Act. Rep Carson (D,WA) was added as the sole cosponsor. Carson is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to which this bill was assigned for primary consideration. This means that there may now be sufficient influence to see the bill considered in Committee.

As I noted yesterday:

“Were the bill to be considered, I suspect that there would be some level of bipartisan support for the bill since it contains no funding authorization and is generally permissive rather than prescriptive. I am not sure that there would be enough support for the bill for it to move to the floor of the House under the suspension of the rules process. There would not be sufficient leadership support to consider the bill under regular order.”
