With the Senate sitting in Washington and the House meeting
in a pro forma session there were 21 bills introduced yesterday. Two of those
may be of specific interest to readers of this blog:
S
2665 A bill to amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to require State and
local coordination on cybersecurity with the national cybersecurity and
communications integration center, and for other purposes. Sen.
Peters, Gary C. [D-MI]
S
2670 A bill to provide for the operation of micro unmanned aircraft
systems. Sen. Vitter, David [R-LA]
As with most cybersecurity related bills introduced in
Congress, I am really only interested in those with some effect on control
system security. If there is none in this bill this will be the last you hear
about it.
I expect that this will be a do not regulate type of bill
coming from Vitter. It will be interesting to see if the definition of micro
UAS ties in with the current FAA definition system.
