The government spending game is now in full swing in the
Congress. Lots of hearings will be held concerning the President’s FY 2015
budget that was submitted to Congress last week. We will also have another
chemical safety hearing, this one on a potential TSCA replacement.
Budget Hearings
Rather than trying to write a generic description of each of
these hearings I’ll put the links in the table below. The ‘Oversight’ columns
refer to the committees in each house of congress that are responsible for the
oversight of the listed agency. Dates without links have already been held and
were referenced in an earlier blog. It should go without saying that I am only
listing those agencies that I routinely track spending on in this blog.

TSCA Hearing
The Environment and the Economy Subcommittee of the Energy
and Commerce Committee will be holding a
hearing on Wednesday on the Chemicals in Commerce Act. This draft
legislation is a House version of bill that would renew-redo the current
TSCA legislation. There is no witness list published yet.
I don’t cover TSCA issues much in this blog, but this will
be an important hearing for the chemical industry.
