Yesterday NIST published the Draft
Agenda for the 4th Cybersecurity Framework Workshop
that will be held in Dallas, TX on September 11th thru 13th.
Nothing really surprising here. There will be an
introductory meeting about the Framework and the Workshop with a Q&A
session on the first morning. Each morning will start out with a brief industry
panel discussion (topics and speakers to be announced). The bulk of the three
days will be spent working in topic-specific working groups (topics to be
announced). Then the Workshop will close with reports from the working group
facilitators and a discussion about where the Framework proceeds from there.
The agenda also notes that NIST is planning on publishing
the draft preliminary Cybersecurity Framework on August 28th.
NIST is also holding a pre-workshop
session on September 10th to familiarize people with the
Workshop process and Framework development. This is intended for folks who have
not attended previous workshops.
BTW: I have registered for both the pre-workshop and the
workshop. Since I live just a couple of hours down the road I’ll be able to
work this into my budget by driving in. I’m not sure if I will be able to make
all four sessions, but I certainly intend on being there on September 11th.
