Bills Introduced – 08-02-13

With the Senate already out of town there were still 86 bills introduced yesterday. Two might be of specific interest to the cybersecurity and chemical transportation safety:

HR 3032 : To amend chapter 35 of title 44, United States Code, to create the National Office for Cyberspace, to revise requirements relating to Federal information security, and for other purposes.Sponsor: Rep Langevin, James R. (D,RI)

HR 3040 : To provide for the minimum size of crews of freight trains, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep Michaud, Michael H. (D,ME)

I suspect the second bill is related to the same train wreck that was the impetus for yesterday’s Federal Railroad Administration’s emergency order.
