As I noted in my
earlier blog, the House Appropriations Committee held their markup hearing
this morning on the appropriations bill for the Department of Transportation.
There is not yet a copy of the bill available to review for potential chemical or
pipeline safety measures, but the House Rules Committee has announced
that their hearing to formulate the rule for the consideration of the as
yet unnumbered bill will be on Thursday morning.
Since the House will not be in session Friday, this bill
will not be considered on the floor until sometime next week. The bill will
certainly be considered under an open rule; lots of time for amendments to be
formulated over the weekend.
