Review - OSHA Publishes Worker Walkaround Final Rule

Today, the DOL’s Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) published a final rule in the Federal Register (89 FR 22558-22601) on “Worker Walkaround Representative Designation Process”. This final rule was approved by OMB on March 21^st, 2024. The notice of proposed rulemaking was published on August 30^th, 2023. This rulemaking revises the OSHA Representatives of Employers and Employees regulation to clarify that the representative(s) authorized by employees may be an employee of the employer or a third party.

This final rule is effective on May 31^st, 2024.
