Yesterday, the page announcing the Subcommittee markup of the FY2024 DHS spending bill today added a link to a Subcommittee Mark of the bill. I just did a quick skim of the bill, and while there are a number of Republican priorities included in the bill, there is no mention of the Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program. Typically, this program is much too small to be specifically mentioned in the bill, but I was hoping for some language extending the currently pending expiration of the authority for the program. The program currently expires on July 27th, 2023.
No word yet on what changes were made today.
