FAR Application Use IFR Approved by OMB

Yesterday, the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had approved an interim final rule (IFR) under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for “FAR Case 2023-010, Prohibition on Using a Covered Application”. The IFR was submitted to OIRA on March 20, 2023. This rulemaking was not listed in the Fall 2020 Unified Agenda, so there is no official listing of its purpose, but I suspect that this may just have something to do with the Tik Tok application. We may see this rule published later this week.
