The House Appropriations Committee announced today the first subcommittee markups of FY 2024 spending bills to be held this week.
The Subcommittee hearings will be for the following spending bills:
• Military
Construction, Veterans Affairs, And Related Agencies Bill, Wednesday, May 17th,
2023,
• Legislative
Branch Bill, Wednesday, May 17th, 2023,
• Agriculture,
Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, And Related Agencies Bill,
Thursday, May 18th, 2023, and
• Homeland Security Bill, Thursday, May 18th, 2023.
Over the last couple of years, the House has had problems
moving the Homeland Security spending bill to the floor, mainly due to internal
disagreements on border and immigration issues. Moving forward this early on
the bill may indicate that the leadership may not be holding the bill back because
of these internal disagreements this year.
