This afternoon the Senate passed HR
3547, the newly named Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 by a bipartisan
vote
of 72 to 26. The House amendment to the bill that was agreed to by the
Senate today will provide for funding of the federal government until the start
of the 2015 fiscal year on October 1st.
The President has until midnight Saturday to sign the bill
to avoid another federal funding fiasco like we saw last fall. There have been
no indications that he has even considered vetoing this bill.
Section 536 of the bill will extend the current CFATS
program through October 4th.
