Saturday the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory
Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had received an advance notice of proposed
rulemaking (ANPRM) from the Department of Transportation concerning the use of
mobile wireless devices for voice calls on aircraft. I have no idea what the
rule making would say (allow/prohibit/restrict???) since this was not covered
in the fall unified agenda. Technically that means that this cannot be significant
regulation.
