On Tuesday of this week DHS posted a notice in the Federal Register about an upcoming meeting of the Science and Technology Advisory Council. The meeting is scheduled for July 15th. According to the notice the agenda deals with improvised explosive devices;
- "The committee will meet for the purpose of discussing last year's Improvised Explosive Device study, and current committee efforts, and to solicit input from attendees on future efforts."
If you have not already reserved one of the 20 spots for the public at the meeting you are too late; registration closed yesterday at 5:00 p.m. EDT. For those of you who do not watch the Federal Register on a daily basis, I am sorry that I did not get this posted sooner.
I’m not the only one that should be apologizing; Bradley Buswell, Deputy Under Secretary for Science and Technology, has an even greater sin to apologize for. The notice was posted in the July 8th Federal Register and the deadline for submitting documents for the committee to consider was July 7th. The notice was filed on the morning of the 7th, but well after the Federal Register for that day was already published.
