Senate Passes HJ Res 101

Yesterday, by unanimous consent, the Senate passed HJ Res 101 without amendment. That legislation would extend the expiration date of the current Continuing Resolution (PL 111-242) until Saturday, December 18th, 2010. The resolution would also have the effect of amending the expiration date of the §550 authorization for the CFATS program to the same date. If the resolution had not passed by mid-night tonight, the government would have been ‘shut-down’ as technically would have been the CFATS program.
