This week, with both the House and Senate in session, there is a relatively heavy hearing schedule. In the House it includes a cUAS hearing and a TRIA reauthorization hearing. In the Senate we have a markup hearing that includes a cUAS bill. The Senate will continue consideration of S 2296, their version of the FY 2026 National Defense Authorization Act.
On Tuesday the Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance of the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on “Unmanned and Unchecked: Confronting the Rising Threat of Malicious Drone Use in America”.
On Wednesday the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance of the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing on “The Reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002”.
On Thursday the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental
Affairs Committee will hold a business
meeting that will look at six bills, including an as-of-yet unintroduced
bill on “Safer Counter-Drone Authorities”.
