Review – Committee Hearings – Week of 3-2-25

This week, with both the House and Senate in session, there is a moderately busy hearing schedule. In the House we have two informational hearings (Chinese cyber activities and CG acquisitions) and one markup of potential interest here. The Senate continues to concentrate on nomination hearings.

Chinese Cyber Operations

On Wednesday the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party will hold a hearing on “End the Typhoons: How to Deter Beijing’s Cyber Actions and Enhance America’s Lackluster Cyber Defenses”.

CG Acquisition

On Wednesday the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will hold a hearing on “America Builds: Coast Guard Acquisitions and Infrastructure.”

Markup Hearing

On Tuesday the House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a business meeting that will look at eleven different pieces of legislation, including:

HR 1766, NTIA Policy and Cybersecurity Coordination Act, and

HR 1709, Understanding Cybersecurity of Mobile Networks Act,
