I recently signed up with the DOT’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to receive a variety of email notifications (I have been doing this with DHS and CISA for quite some time). Today I received my first copy of their quarterly ‘Hazardous Matters’ newsletter. If you deal with hazardous materials shipping or response, this is well worth the read.

There is an interesting ongoing feature listed in the Publications and Resources section, the Check The Box campaign. PHMSA explains that:
Since 2018, the Check the Box campaign has sought to prevent serious incidents by raising awareness of the risks of undeclared hazardous shipments by providing compliance aid resources to the general public. This year, PHMSA reviewed our data on undeclared hazmat incidents, and updated our fact sheets devoted to the four most common undeclared materials.
