A truck transporting a container of lithium batteries overturned and the resulting battery fire shutdown a major bridge while the fire burned out. No injuries were reported, and no damage estimates have been provided
Pull quote: “"Lithium-ion batteries take copious amounts of water, so it's generally better to just let them burn. It's also better for the environment," said LAFD Capt. Adam Van Gerpen. "We're concerned about water runoff getting into the drains, eventually getting into the ocean. It could create an environmental disaster."”

A small roof top fire led to a major chlorine release at a pool chemical company. Evacuations were ordered for 17,000 people and the remainder of the county was put into shelter-in-place. The collapse of the roof and walls of at least one of the buildings on site has been reported.No reports of injuries.
CSB reportable based upon probable damage at the site. CSB has sent an inspection team to the incident.

A spill of 100 gallons of “an isocyanate” at a chemical manufacturing facility resulted in three employees being transported to local hospitals. No damage estimates were provided.
Possible CSB reportable if any of the three were admitted.
