On Wednesday (GPO one day behind on printing Congressional
Record) the Senate passed S 4148, a three-year extension of the Chemical
Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program. The bill would extend the program
through July 27th, 2023. The bill was
passed under the Senate’s unanimous consent process on the same day that it
was introduced.
The bill will now go to the House where it will likely be
taken up the next day the full House is in session. It is likely to be
considered under the suspension of the rules process.
