This week with the House and Senate on their extended 4th
of July weekend we normally expect no more that a couple of hearings in the
home district. But with the authority to conduct virtual hearings, the House
Appropriations Committee (among others) is taking advantage of allowing members
to physically remain in their districts to hold markups of the 12
appropriations bills.
Appropriations Bills
The various subcommittees of the House Appropriations
Committee will be holding markup hearings for their respective bills on Monday
through Wednesday of this week. The links below take you to the hearing page for
each hearing. Those pages include links to the draft bills.
The first full Committee markup
hearing will be held on Thursday. The Committee will conduct their markup
of the following three bills:
• State and Foreign Operations
Appropriations Bill, FY 2021,
• Agriculture Appropriations Bill,
FY 2021, and
• Military Construction and
Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill, FY 2021.
These three bills are likely to be combined into a single
spending bill for consideration on the floor of the House; probably the first to be considered.
