Yesterday with both the House and Senate in session, there
were 30 bills introduced. Of those, two may be of specific interest to readers
of this blog:
HR 3895
To promote the use of smart technologies and systems in communities, and for
other purposes. Rep. DelBene, Suzan K. [D-WA-1]
HR 3901
To direct the Secretary of Transportation to establish the Strengthening
Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Challenge Grant Program to
promote technological innovation in our Nation's cities. Rep.
DeSaulnier, Mark [D-CA-11]
I suspect that neither bill will be covered here in the
future, but I will be watching to see if there are any cybersecurity provisions
in either bill. If you are going to promote smart technology, it would seem to
me to be smart to include promoting the cybersecurity of that tech. Anyone
wanna take any bets on how smart congresscritters are?
