There was fire at the wastewater treatment plant at a refinery. Three workers were taken to the hospital for treatment. No damage was reported.

Wahpeton, ND – 8-7-25

There was a 2,000-gal hydrochloric acid leak at a food processing facility. No injuries were reported nor was there any discussion about damage. Two local farms were evacuated and a shelter in place for the surrounding area was announced. One article notes that an early report claimed that the spill was 16,000 gallons.

Vandalia, OH– 8-8-25

There was a hydrochloric acid release at a water treatment plant. A nearby road was closed and a shelter I-place-order was issued. No injuries were reported, nor was any damage mentioned. There was no one in the facility at the time and the incident was initially reported as a possible fire because of the fume cloud leaving the building.

Chattanooga, TN – 8-14-21

There was a small nitric acid spill at an automative paint production plant. The building was evacuated. No injuries were reported, and there was no discussion about any damages.
