Yesterday, with just the Senate in Washington (the House arrives for business today) there were eight bills introduced. One of those bills may receive additional coverage in this blog:
S 4349 A bill to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to notifications of emerging signals concerning devices. en. Marshall, Roger [R-KS]
In Passing
I also want to mention, in passing, the introduction of S Con Res 41. This is a budget resolution for FY 2023. I do not normally cover budget resolutions, but this one is interesting because it was introduced by Sen Paul (R,TN) who is not a member of either the Senate Budget Committee (that is supposed to do budget resolutions) nor the Senate Appropriations Committee. Paul is a notorious Senate ‘bomb thrower’ who is well known for his disruptive antics in support of his frequently unique outlook on where the US should be headed. This resolution will not be considered by anyone but Paul, so it is a dead issue, even deader than most recent budget bills, but it did catch my eye and I will probably look at it when the text is published.
