Yesterday the Chemical Safety Board (CSB) published a notice in the ‘Recent News’ section of their landing page that the new version of their Accidental Release Reporting Form was now available on the site. The link in that notice takes one directly to the form, with not link to the instructions for completing the form. That link is found on the new “Incident Reporting Rule Submission Information” page.
Readers of this blog will remember that I described the OMB’s approval of this new form last February. The editorial problems that I noted with the instructions at that time have been corrected.
It would be helpful if there were an easy way to find the ‘submission information’ page from the landing page of the CSB site. That news item I described above will cycle off the page too quickly. I had to track the new page down through the ‘Site Map’ on the bottom of the landing page. Facilities that are in the midst of an incident response do not need to be tracking down reporting links.
Oh, and by the way, the old “Incident Reporting Rule
Submission Information” page is still live. No room for confusion here (SIGH).
Two delayed steps forward and one back at the CSB.
