This evening in a relatively bipartisan
vote of 78 – 16 the Senate confirmed the President’s appointment of Jeh
Johnson as the newest Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. There
are still a number of important vacancies in the Department, but this is an
important first step in getting the management team back into place.
