9th Coast Guard District Extends CDC Barge Reporting Suspension

The Coast Guard published a notice in today’s Federal Register (78 FR 4788-4790) that the 9^th Coast Guard District was extending the suspension of the Regulated Navigation Area (RNA) reporting requirements for barges carrying certain dangerous cargo (CDC) through September 30^th, 2013. This is an almost identical notice to the one published by the 8^th Coast Guard District Commander earlier this month upon which I have already reported.

The 9^th CG District covers the Great Lakes region.

This notice is actually a little more than a week late since the ‘current’ suspension expired on January 15^th, a little over a week ago.
