Review - Bills Introduced – 5-6-25

Yesterday, with both the House and Senate in session, there were 62 bills introduced. Two of those bills may receive additional attention in this blog:

HR 3207 To authorize the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General to deputize a State or local law enforcement officer to protect certain events with temporary flight restrictions, and for other purposes. Steube, W. Gregory [Rep.-R-FL-17]

S 1625 A bill to establish in the Department of Homeland Security a working group relating to countering terrorist, cybersecurity, border and port security, and transportation security threats posed to the United States by the Chinese Communist Party, and for other purposes.  Cornyn, John [Sen.-R-TX]

For more information on these bills, including legislative history for similar bills in the 118th, as well as a cybersecurity bill I mentioned in passing, see my article at CFSN Detailed Analysis - https://patrickcoyle.substack.com/p/bills-introduced-5-5-25 - subscription required.
