Yesterday, the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had received two notices of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) that would repeal existing environmental regulations. Those rulemakings are:
Repeal of
Amendments to National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants:
Coal- and Oil-Fired Electric Utility Steam Generating Units, and
Carbon Pollution Standards Repeal
As expected, neither of these two rules were listed in the
Fall 2024 Unified Agenda, so it is difficult to tell the exact scope and focus
of the proposed rulemakings.
