Yesterday the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had approved the TSA’s information collection request (ICR) revision for their “Highway Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE) Program”. That revision request was necessitated by the addition of “newly developed cybersecurity questions and cybersecurity annex questions” (Supporting Statement, page 2).
I had addressed this ICR revision three separate times during the submission/review process:
Review - TSA Publishes Baseline Assessment ICR Revision Notice – 6-4-21,
TSA Publishes Base Cybersecurity 30-day ICR Notice, and
Review - TSA Sends Detailed Info on Base ICR Changes to OMB – 9-8-21
Since my last post (the detailed
version on CFSN Detailed Analysis) was sent to OMB as a comment on the ICR
revision, TSA had to change their supporting
document to reflect their response to those comments. There is now a rather
lengthy discussion responding to those, and earlier, on pages 6 thru 7 of the
new version. While I am not personally satisfied with portions of that
response, OIRA obviously is, so the matter is settled.
