Yesterday the House Energy and Commerce Committee published
a background
memo for tomorrows hearing on the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards
(CFATS) program. That memo includes a witness list that has not yet been
actually posted to the hearing
web page. The witnesses include:
• David Wulf, DHS;
• Chris Currie, GAO;
• Steve Roberts, Chemical Security
Group, LLC;
• Doug Brown, Brown Chemical Co.;
• Mike Wilson, BlueGreen Alliance;
• James Conrad, Conrad Law and
Policy Counsel; and
• Yvette Arellano, Texas
Environmental Justice Advocacy Services.
I had
noted the importance of the GAO testimony in this (and yesterday’s Senate)
hearing. Unfortunately, the expected new report has yet to be produced according
to Currie’s
testimony yesterday. All he can currently testify on is a summary of past
GAO’s past recommendations; disappointing to say the least.
