Yesterday the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory
Affairs (OIRA) announced
that it had approved a proposed rule from the Coast Guard partially delaying
the TWIC Reader Rule implementation date. According to the Unified Agenda, the
delay would only apply to “certain facilities or vessels that carry or handle
certain dangerous cargoes (CDCs) in bulk”.
The Trump Administration does not have a strong history of
promptly publishing ‘approved’ regulations. There is no telling when this will
appear in the Federal Register.
