Yesterday the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) published a notice in the Federal Register (76 FR 70953) announcing that they would be extending the comment period on their Safety of Gas Transmission Pipelines ANPRM. The original comment period ended on December 2, 2011; this extends it to January 20, 2012.
It is a shame that four months was not long enough for industry to read this relatively lengthy ANPRM (40+ pages) and provide feedback to PHMSA. I’m sure that they will be able to get a lot more work done on this over the holidays (pardon the sarcasm).
