CFATS Reauthorization Bill in May

Last Friday GovExec.com reported that staffers from the House Homeland Security Committee were saying that a bill for the reauthorization of the CFATS regulations is scheduled to be marked up in committee before the end of May recess. They report that there is close coordination between the Homeland Security Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee to try to develop a single bill that can be marked-up by both committees. The GovExec.com article claims that IST provisions are still under discussion for this new bill that would otherwise re-authorize the current chemical facility security program.
