Most Interesting Chemical: Calcium Peroxide: A
grayish white granular material. Used in baking, in medicine, in bleaching
oils. CALCIUM PEROXIDE is an explosion hazard if mixed with finely divided
organic matter. Noncombustible but accelerates the burning of combustible
material: mixtures of combustible material and the peroxide can be ignited by
friction or contact with moisture. Mixtures with polysulfide polymers may
ignite. Decomposes rapidly above 200°C. Strongly basic. (Source: CameoChemicals.NOAA.gov).
