With just the Senate in Washington (the House continues to
sit out the funding fiasco) there is a light hearing schedule. There will be
one markup hearing of interest and a hearing about modern military
intelligence.
Markup Hearing
On Wednesday the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will hold a business meeting that includes markups of seven bills. One of those bills is an as-of-yet unintroduced S XXXX, the PIPELINE Safety Act of 2025. Introduced by both Sen Cruz (R,TX) and Sen Cantwell (D,WA), this looks like it will be a bipartisan (Committee Staff) reauthorization bill.
Military Intelligence
On Tuesday the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and
Capabilities of the Senate Armed Services Committee will hold a
hearing on “To receive testimony on threats and challenges posed to
Department of Defense personnel and operations from adversarial access to
publicly available data coupled with advanced data analysis tools now widely
available on the commercial market”.
